What is SCORM?
SCORM stands for “Sharable Content Object Reference Model”. SCORM, simply defined, is a set technical standard for e-learning software. It is a set of standards used by developers that make it easy to use SCORM-compliant content, as opposed to content not using those standards.
Here is the thing: large organizations often require SCORM compliance so they can more easily use third party content for their enterprise-wide learning initiatives. In some environments, SCORM can help to keep the cost of integrating learning management systems and e-learning content down when compared to non-SCORM compliant systems.
